The Busby Berkeley tape

In 1976, United Artists gave Phil a soundtrack tape with numbers taken from from these films;

"Gold Diggers of 1933"

"42nd Street" (1933)

"Dames" (1934)

"Gold Diggers of 1935"

These were all American musical films directed and choreographed by Busby Berkeley.

United Artists asked Phil to "make something of it" for general release and the result was a 45rpm vinyl single that became the popular hit of 1976 - "Lullaby of Broadway" and got everyone tap dancing in the clubs.
